Eefje van Bommel completed her studies of Dutch law at the University of Utrecht in 1999. From 2000 to 2008 she worked as a lawyer at Boekel de Nerée. During that period she completed the postgraduate course in planning & environmental law at the Grotius Academy of the University of Nijmegen in 2003 and 2004. In 2009 Eefje successfully completed the Master of Real Estate postgraduate course at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate. At Gijs Heutink Advocaten she focuses on advising and litigating in the field of planning & environmental law: planning and zoning law, environmental law, permits, land development, contracts and enforcement. She regularly publishes on those subjects. She also speaks at seminars and works as a lecturer on those subjects at several institutions (Amsterdam School of Real Estate, University of Nijmegen (cpo), the Instituut voor Bouwrecht and Euroforum).

Eefje is an experienced litigator. Her main areas of attention are planning & environmental law and administrative law, specialising in particular in city-centre redevelopments, retail projects, hotels and offices, environmental law, permits and enforcement.

Eefje is a member of the Construction Lawyers Association (VBR-A), the VAR Administrative Law Association and the Environmental Law Association. She is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Until 2011 Eefje was a board member of Young ULI (Urban Land Institute).

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
