Anneke Franken completed her studies of Dutch law cum laude at the University of Amsterdam in 2006. During her studies she spent a semester at Columbia University in New York. During the last year of her studies she worked for one year as a legal researcher at the University of Amsterdam. From 2006 until 2010 Anneke worked as a lawyer at Brinkhof, where she gained knowledge of and experience with administrative law and European law.
Since April 2010 Anneke has worked as a lawyer at Gijs Heutink Advocaten, focusing on planning & environmental law and administrative law (town and country planning, permits, enforcement, subsidies and Probity Screening Act). Anneke has particular knowledge of and experience with large-scale retail projects, city-centre redevelopments and land development. She regularly publishes on these subjects.
Anneke is a board member of the ULI Next (Urban Land Institute) and a board member of the Young Collectors Circle (Foundation Art Projects). Anneke also is a member of the Construction Law Association (VBR) and the Administrative Law Association (VAR).
