Sonja van der Kamp has been a lawyer since 1996. She studied Dutch Law at the University of Amsterdam. Sonja was associated with Boekel De Neree (partner from 2006-2018) from 1995 to 2018 and joined Hemwood on September 1, 2018.

Sonja has a special focus on commercial tenancy law, but from the beginning of her career she has also been involved in almost all other civil aspects of real estate, such as apartment rights, leasehold, liability law, general contract law, purchase contracts and project development. Sonja often acts for investors, developers, retail companies and catering entrepreneurs. She advises, drafts contracts and is an experienced and adept litigation lawyer.

Sonja is a member of the editorial board of the leading magazine on tenancy law in The Netherlands (Tijdschrift voor Huurrecht Bedrijfsruimte) in which magazine she also regularly publishes, she taught for a long time at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate and is currently chairman of the advisory committee on legislation for tenancy law of the Dutch Bar Association. She is also a member of the editorial board of Vastgoedcontracten.nl (online platform for real estate law contracts).

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
